Jill Jemison, BTV Ignite Technical Leader






Jill Jemison serves as the Technical Leader for BTV Ignite.

Working closely with US Ignite, Jill plays a vital role in working with the local developer community, promoting gigabit app development and engaging with the local technical community where needed.    As Technical Leader, she is the primary contact on the ground to help facilitate any actions needed to discover, develop, promote or deploy gigabit applications.

Jill directs Technology Services for Health Sciences at the University of Vermont, with responsibility for infrastructure, programming, helpdesk, education technology, research computing, classroom support and AV. Prior to assuming the director role, she led the College of Medicine's nationally recognized online learning project. She is faculty director of the Association of American Medical College's Group on Information Resources Leadership Institute for IT leaders in academic medicine, chaired the steering committee for the AAMC GIR and was the founding chair of the GIR Education Technology Special Interest Group. She co-chairs the Educause Health Sciences constituent group and teaches in the Public Health Project course at the College of Medicine.

Before coming to academic medicine, she was a journalist for 13 years, ending as the first online editor for The Burlington Free Press.
